Life’s Tribulations
I
have been writing about psychological behaviors, symptoms, how to find faith,
hope and determination during Recovery, now I am at a lost as to how to feel as
I am frustrated in finding work. I have
had pep talks, and compliments about my abilities, yet I find that in searching
for a means to keep what I have gained, my own sanity, I find I have both
positive and negative options for decisions.
I think this shouldn’t be, everything is not everything when it comes to
peace, and I have no peace of mind in my endeavors. I have tried walking, talking to
acquaintances, strangers as well and I have the same compliments, yet I have
nothing to show me proof that I will succeed in what I truly want to do. Determination slips and slides with each
contact I make, and my faith builds itself on trust, yet I look at myself and
wonder if I am missing something when it comes to trustworthiness. I can hope all Iwant to, but without working
towards a goal, my hope is only a word and my faith is only a story to
tell. Thinking these things as I do
makes me wonder how much can a person perceive in themselves to remain
consistent in their Recovery. Can being
resilient lend to personal strength and belief in what a person wishes to
overcome? Does worry carry over to
frustration, lending over to backsliding and even worse, relapse? I thought of the negative directions, its
flight time if I turn my back on my personal Recovery and this is another fight
I must win to keep my strength. If you
believe you can succeed, someone else will believe with you and the battle is
nearly quite won, if you turn your back on the mirror, you will not see the
light of your beliefs and that is when you begin to know you have reached
another reflection in error. I feel somewhat
better in the last two days, my
mental strength comes in surges, yet I am holding on to the believe that even
though I am not the only one going through trials and tribulations, there are
others who can wield faith and keep me building upon my hopes and
aspirations. The one word exist to me
which carries me forward as many know thereof…BELIEF.

Family and Recovery
What I’ve been thinking about lately is my family and recovery. My aunt told me recently that one of the reasons I recovered and changed my life around was because of my mom, dad and the rest of my family. She said my uncle who is dead did not have his mom and dad around when he was young. He did not have a good shot of turning his life around even though he tried. I also always wish he was still around to see how I made it. My family has been there for me through the ups and downs that I have gone through. The same holds true of my grandchildren, they have been staying with me most weekends since they were babies. They not only provide me with company. They also get me up doing things like cooking big meals. It is something I like to do if I know people enjoy what I make. When my grandkids come over I get to cook big meals and their favorites. I also get to keep busy doing other things when they are around. I am going to start cooking big meals again at least once a month from now on. Until you stop and think you do not realize how much your family means to you or even thinks of you. Two of my grandchildren just had a birthday party and my aunt showed up even though she was not feeling a hundred percent, because she did not want to disappoint me. If my family had not been there, I do not know if I would have recovered to the extent that I have. There were a lot of people who told my family just let him sink or swim. Do not help him anymore. As you can tell they did not.

Thoughts Involving Recovery
Overcoming negative thoughts requires changes, not only mental or emotional, but physical ones also. Your life has to change to get rid of negative thinking, maybe where you live, friends, even bad habits. We must change what’s inside ourselves in order to become more of a positive person. If you’re feeling “blue” most of the time or you’re facing “bad scenes”, change may not come too quickly. Strength is what is necessary to understand your life and know what is wrong to create a change if you want your life to become better; it’s your thinking and what you’re feeling inside which make you a new person.Look honestly at your life and the things, the places and people that tend to bring you down and put them away from you. Challenge yourself because you choose to; and know that living a positive life is not living the demands of others not the will of others. If you don’t like something you don’t take it in hand; you don’t do anything; yet do try something else instead. It’s not the cowards’ way out, it’s just being smart; or idealistic, and it’s your faith in you turning away from the negative, reaching for perfection; striving for Recovery.

What is Faith
Faith alone can be nothing. Everyone would like faith to be in motion, a verb instead of a noun, being of loyalty of great unquestioned belief.
Many people today believe that faith is trust and that all attitudes of life will work out for the better for everyone by itself. What we don’t know is that in faith is realization that everything is working and though at times we may not like it one way, with faith, our strength and desire builds our trust which moves faith even more.
Faith is putting us to the test and our beliefs placing it in motion. Having faith is enacting; watching a tree move a sidewalk apart, or greater even still moving a mountain. Faith is an attitude, which requires an action and with it all things follow in order and turn out just right as if a mustard seed was planted and grew. Work with faith and you will realize your recovery.
